We are a freelance fully qualified hair & make-up artists team based on the Costa Del Sol, being bilingual in Spanish and English has lead us to work within both cultures experiencing very different make-up art. We run the Hair & make-up business from Marbella dealing with both Spanish and English on a daily basis day. All our team are totally professional working Fast and Efficient to a very high standard, we can provide you with a naturally glamorous looks which are perfect for both bridal and formal occasions, We will can create anything from dramatic special effect to stunning photo shoot work being totally flexible in all fields of hair and make-up art work. Having always been involved in the hair and make-up industry from a very young age you could say we all grow up around fashion shows photos shoot, TV and theater work. We are all very fortunate to live and work at the top end of the fashion world and wedding industry along the Costa Del Sol area for many years. What’s the plan?
I cannot stress enough the importance of planning your shoot – it is a cardinal rule. You do not want to waste anyone’s time so it is so totally important that you plan in advance. Planning has its advantages and, if done well, the shoot will be organised, efficient, and you will get a better end result!

The artistic direction for the shoot
We start with a blank piece of paper or open a new Word document to get all your ideas down. Writing down anything and everything that the client wants included in the shoot. This doesn’t mean making it dull, but not to get too complicated by having models suspended from great heights over the city.

We always consider the following in our planning:

What is the theme for the shoot?
Is it going to be simple or themed? Rock chick, wartime, abstract, modern, fairytale, film noir, etc?
How does our client wants the images to be interpreted by the viewer?
Want the viewer to feel excited, happy, sad, etc? Think about how you might portray the emotion that you want to capture by using colours, styling, location, poses, makeup, hair styles, or lighting.
Where would you like the shoot to be?
A park, office, urban 70, supermarket aisle, beach, glamour’s port?
The clothes have to tie into the theme and the surroundings?
Never lose sight of your theme! What our clients wants are they going for a moody, carnival-styled created the scene and hold the shoot during the day or night.
What kind of makeup, hair styles and poses would suit the overall theme?
Check out the internet or magazines, and look for any relevant hair and makeup styles and model poses. Ripping pages out of magazines with the looks the client visuals is a good idea. These are called ‘tear sheets’ and are great visual aids for assisting your team in understanding what the finish look is needed

Finding the right talent
There are a few different skill professional people needed for a sets required in a photo shoot. For example: photographer, hair stylist, make-up artist, models and a wardrobe stylist.

Photographer
Choosing the photographer is very important, they must have style and professionals which will always get you the results.

Hair and Makeup artists
Hair and Makeup artists are invaluable finding, literally the ‘miracle worker’ in our team and can transform ever day models into superstars.

Model
Finding an appropriate model can be one of the easiest or hardest parts of getting together a crew for you shoot. We have a model for all shoots.

The shoot
On location our team: hair stylist, make-up artist and wardrobe stylist will be there to set up the models to have their hair and makeup done. This could take anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours. Then it is over to the photographer we try not to get in the way or interrupt the photographer when he is doing his job – they hate that, trust me. We are always prepared and make sure that we have all the clothes and ‘looks’ ready for the model before and between shots. We don’t want to waste time deciding what to put the model in next shoot being proactive and get it sorted.

Once the shoot is over, The Lavish Planner will let you know when the images will be ready for you to get your hands on them! Usually this turnaround time shouldn’t be any longer than one week.

Now that the shoot is done and dusted, we don’t forget to thank everyone involved for their hard work.
